About Us
Welcome to Oregon Family Vacation Rentals!
We are a family business offering beautiful properties for rent in Eugene and on the Oregon coast in Waldport. Because we own, use, and manage each of our homes they are meticulously appointed for our own family, and ready for our guests year-round. This makes them all perfect for vacationers, renters, and families looking for a comfortable, well-equipped getaway property.
Accommodating Your Best Vacation With A Personal Touch
Each and every guest's stay is important to us and we are here to make it the best it can be.
Do you need help planning your stay or booking fun activities in the area? Can we arrange a special delivery or prep the house for a memorable surprise? We’d love to help make your visit everything you can imagine.
It is important to us that each visitor experiences the personal touch we strive for. While we can be as hands-on or as hands-off as you desire guests often tell us they can’t wait to come back again and again because our home and family has become a second family and home to them. Just the way we want it.
Experience Is Everything!
As world travelers, Clark and I understand what people need and want when traveling. We know first-hand that experiencing an immaculately clean home with creature comforts like fluffy towels, kitchen amenities, ample paper supplies and even extra coffee makes a difference.
The little things truly matter to us, which is why we even allow a non-traditional late checkout to everyone who visits our properties. We’re serious about our attention to detail and that sets our vacation rentals apart from the others.
About the Owners
Meet Clark and Lara, owners and managers of the Oregon Family Vacation Rentals group of properties. Born in Eugene, Oregon Clark’s lifework and career have revolved around property development and management while Lara migrated to Eugene to attend the University of Oregon. (GO DUCKS!) While attending the University of Oregon Lara began dreaming of owning a bed and breakfast. She envisioned a place where parents could come visit their college students while experiencing the "hominess" they craved. In 2007 she opened the Little Pink House and since then has hosted hundreds of parents of U of O students. Many of their Little Pink House guests have also rented the Big Pink House for their graduation parties and gatherings. Together Clark and Lara have eight children and a French bulldog named Pierre.
Their Story
In 2007 Clark began construction on the Big Pink House. The housing market had taken a downward turn and construction was slow. Clark was meticulous in his planning. It was an excellent time to be building as costs allowed for amenities like pink marble, a gourmet kitchen with a Wolf range/oven, and custom cabinetry. After completion they tied the knot in a living room ceremony at The Big Pink House in 2008, combining their families into a party of 10.
Now that their children are all grown and either in or already graduated from college, they have decided it’s time to share their family home with renters from the community and all over the world. Along with the Big Pink House and the Little Pink House they own and rent a beachfront vacation home in Waldport, just steps from the ocean.
Adventure Awaits
With only a few central states remaining on their checklist, not only have Clark and Lara almost made it to every state in the U.S., their young pup Pierre has joined them on almost 240 domestic flights as well. Their insatiable wanderlust and adventurous hearts have taken them much farther than just the US as they’ve traveled all over the globe to countless countries and visited every continent but Antarctica. (Be sure to watch Lara’s blog for stories recounting their traveling experiences.)
Wherever Clark and Lara find themselves, they are most likely out and about savoring the experiences each day brings. You might find them hiking or biking, fishing and crabbing, or skiing and kayaking together in Oregon, along the California Coast, or while they’re abroad visiting family in Australia or on a trek through the Himalayan mountains.
